New Stamp!

I had a coupon for Roberts Crafts, so on my day off this week I went out looking for some deals. Upon arriving, I didn't find anything "super-fantastic", but I did find an adorable Penny Black stamp with a cow in a bikini drinking a drink. Here is the price breakdown:
Original price was $8.69
- 40 % coupon taking off $3.48

totaling $5.21 for an cutie of a stamp

I have no idea what I am going to use her on, but I thought she was too cute to pass up.

My Best Friend's Wedding

As some of you may know, my best friend Lauren is having her wedding ceremony next week in Vegas. What you may not know is....I'm going to be a BRIDESMAID!!

The whole bridesmaid role is kind of exciting....and frustrating!

Exciting - being in my best friend's wedding
Frustrating - getting my dress ready

Lauren picked out a very nice strapless dress for her bridesmaids (thank goodness I lost a bunch of weight) in peridot from David's Bridal. The only thing is, ever since my wedding, I have had nothing but bad luck with David's Bridal.
  • They failed to mention all the additional charges for alterations when I purchased my wedding dress from them and my mother got so mad she had to leave the store, so she wouldn't embarrass me in front of everyone at David's Bridal.
  • I went to order my bridesmaid dress and it took forever to have someone even talk to me.
  • I finally walked out of one David's Bridal location after being there for 2 hours. Amazingly, I knew the dress I wanted, the size, color, and shoes before I even got there. You would think it would be a painless procedure right? NOT!
  • I ended up calling my order into another location and they told me I had to call another location in another state had them ship me my items.
  • My dress had to be ordered direct from the factory because they discontinued the color.
  • When I went to pick up my dress I thought I would order my shoes at the same time. I was left alone to go through all the shoes while the salesperson disappeared. I stood there in my dress, barefoot for 45 minutes waiting for someone to check their stock for my size.
  • Also, my dress needed alterations. I took it to a local dry cleaner to hem 2 inches, and they told me I could pick it up next Thursday, we leave for Vegas Saturday morning (cutting it short - just a little).

Now that I have vented....

Next week is when everything will come together, I have my hair appointment, I will get my nails done, I will pick up my dress from being hemmed and cleaned and we will be driving to Vegas for the wedding. Keep your fingers crossed everything runs smoothly. My luck I will end up with purple hair, my dress will be too short and I will brake my arm the night before.

Too be continued....

Sunglasses

Macy's has made is easier to pick out sunglasses for your face shape.

I went on their website recently and noticed that they have different categories of face shapes for their sunglasses. You can search either by face shape or skim through their entire inventory.

I found this aide to be very helpful, for it is so hard to find a good pair of sunglasses that compliment a round face.

Good job Macy's!

I was on the news....again

The EOC building, in which we are located, started it's open house yesterday. A lot of media came by to tape the new building, shots of the dispatch center and the new EOC. Here is some video of KSL's broadcast on our opening. Fortunately I didn't have to speak this time, but there are some good profile and hand shots of yours truly.

NOTE: Thank goodness I have an appointment to get my roots done next week.

I promised Shannon at work I would post pictures of the finished products I have been working on by tonight....so here they are. As some of you may know, who read my blog regularly, I have bought a bunch of Magnolia Stamps. When my mother was out her last weekend, we were able to play around with those stamps and I have put together various crafts to sell at craft shows and online. A reality check

I recently purchased The Pursuit of Happyness, starring Will Smith, on sale at Walmart, and finally was able to sit down and watch the whole thing. What a great movie!!!! Will Smith did such a great job in this film, I couldn't help but fall in love with his character. His character has to go to hell and back to take care of himself and his son. Every ordeal he went through made me realize that I have so

Here is the trailer:

I recommend this movie to anyone who wants to see a wonderful drama with a touching message. You will hold tighter to the ones you love and cherish all that you have after watching this movie. It was awesome!

Tilda Doll

Julia at http://juliaroberts6.blogspot.com/ made a Tilda doll for one oh her exchanges with Katarina at http://kamadesign.blogspot.com/ I am in love with this doll! I wish she would make more to sell. Maybe I can convince her to make me one????

It's going to rain...

I'm sitting here at work, and fortunately we have a window to look out. As I look up to the sky all I see is gray....it's going to rain!!! I'm so excited! I love the rain!!! It puts me in the best mood. I just want to go home, change into some fuzzy pj's, throw something warm and hearty in the oven and sit in front of the TV watching old movies.....either that or go shopping. The best time to go shopping is while it's raining, hardly anyone is out shopping, except me!

Guess what's now on DVD?

I went to Walmart last night, getting some groceries for today's lunch and just happened to walk by the DVD section. As I was strolling through the isles I came upon two DVD sets I just had to get.

The first season of Designing Women is finally out. I remember watching this show right before Golden Girls on the Lifetime channel every weekday. I loved Delta Burke's character, and couldn't stand her sister Julia, played by Dixie Carter.

The Jetsons set is the second season, volume one. I already purchased Season one a while back and was really excited when I saw the second season came out on dvd. I remember watching the Jetsons on Saturday mornings as a kid and still enjoy watching it as an adult, seeing how technology has caught up to this futuristic cartoon.

Sean's Graduation

Here is a picture I just received from my cousin's graduation last weekend for Westminster College in Utah. I tried to take pictures at the graduation, but there was an operator error and I didn't get any video from the event. Sean received a BA in Science for Physics. We were all so proud of him.

HORRAY SEAN!

The best paper crafting tool in the world!!

I have fallen in love with Spellbinder's Nestabilities!!!!
They are the coolest thing since sliced bread. Not only do you save so much money when you buy them, they are so compact, you don't need a lot of room for storage. You get multiple dies in one package, so you don't need to go out and get a separate punch for every size. Myself, I waited till I got a coupon for the store I bought them from, and then purchased them. Joann's website also has them online for a really good deal. All in all, you spend about the same.

There are a couple of dies I still need to get, like all the square ones. After that I think I am just about covered as far as the dies that I will use the most.

I recently purchased a couple from Hobby Lobby, and have become addicted! I can't get enough.

This last weekend

Here are some pictures from this last weekend when my mother and father came out from Vegas for my cousin's graduation.

While out here, my mother and I took full advantage of all the paper crafting supplies we have accumulated over the past couple of months (and the many we purchased this last weekend), and hid out in my basement making odds and ends for most of the weekend. We went to Hobby Lobby, Joann's, Ikea, and Heartfelt Paper. I got so many fun organizing items at Ikea for my little paper crafts room. I am now totally organized!
I also received all of my Magnolia stamps that I had ordered, so I was itching to get my hands on them and experiment. This also allowed me play with all my new Prismacolor markers.
My mother even brought up a lot of her own supplies for us to play with. We exchanged many ideas on how to create items and we spent a lot of time catching up on each other's lives. Needless to say we had a lot of fun!!!

Check out my crafts. They make a great gift!!!
